Use: PM-50, PM-500 & PM-30,000 Silicone Damping Fluids, are low content phenylmethyl silicones [CAS No. 63148-52-7] (phenylmethylsiloxane) that are formulated for wide range thermal stability. Their phenylmethyl content is between 8 to 12%. These fluids are clear, colorless and odorless. PM Fluids are characterized by their low pour points (- 70°C), high thermal stabily > 200°C, low V.T.C. (viscosity-to –temperature coefficients), wide service temperature range, high damping action (meets VV-D-1078 "Silicone as damping fluid"), high dielectric strength, excellent lubricity and inertness to virtually all substrates.
PM Silicone Damping Fluids meet federal specification VV-D-1078 "Silicone as Damping Fluid". They are used in a wide range of military and industrial liquid filled gauges, level controllers, rotary dampers, temperature and process recorders, control valves, calibration equipment, flow meters, thermostats, dashpots, monitoring systems, avionic gauges and aviation instruments to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, and dampen torque.
PM-50, 500 & 30,000 Silicone Damping Fluids are particularly effective for use in instruments and gauge that will operate in a wide service temperature range (-70°C to >200°C). They offer significantly higher thermal stability than polydimethylsiloxane fluids. In addition, they also provide excellent low temperature stability and viscosity will not increase significantly even at extremely low temps. They are widely used as dampers for avionic applications where extremely low temperatures are experienced.
PM Silicone Damping Fluids are hydrophobic and prevent humidity from entering the gauge/instrument housing. This is very important. At low temperatures, water condensation can freeze and cause damage to the sensitive parts within the gauge/instrument housing. Ultimately, PM Silicone Damping Fluids will extend the service life of the equipment that it fills and provide more accurate readings even in the harshest of conditions.
Properties:
- Dampen vibration in gauges, instruments, meters and avionic instruments
- Protects internal components against vibration, freezing and corrosion.
- Extends service life of gauges, instruments, meters and avionic instruments.
- Wide service temperature range
- Low viscosity change at temperature (low V.T.C.)
- Inert to virtually all o-rings, gaskets, seals and valves *
- High Dielectric Strength
- Widely used for avionic damping applications
*not recommended for silicone rubber due to possibility of swelling

PM-125 Silicone Damping Fluid
Chemical Name: Phenylmethylsiloxane [Phenylmethyl-Dimethylsiloxane]
CAS No: 63148-52-7
Viscosities: 125cSt
Federal Spec met: VV-D-1078 "Silicone as Damping Fluid"
Product Equivalent: Dow Corning® 550, DC 550
Use: PM-125 is a are high content phenylmethyl silicones [CAS No. 63148-52-7] (phenylmethylsiloxane) that is formulated for high temperature stability. Its phenylmethyl content is between 49 to 52%. PM-125 is characterized by > 200°C, low V.T.C.
