Products Description: Low Temperature Silicone Bath Fluids are clear, colorless and odorless polydimethylsiloxane fluids that are characterized by their low visocsities, low viscosity-to-temperature coefficients (little viscosity change at low temperatures), low pour points, low temperature stability, and compatibility with virtually all surfaces including metal, rubbers, plastics. They have service operating temperatures as low as -65C.

Low Temperature Pure Silicone Bath Fluids are clear, colorless & odorless fluids that will remain stable and have little viscosity change at temperatures as low as –60ºC

Use: Clearco Low Temperature Pure Silicone Bath Fluids are low-viscosity linear Polydimethylsiloxane that are formulated for Low Temperature Baths and Low Temperature Heat Transfer Applications. Low Temperature Pure Silicone Bath Fluids are clear, colorless, odorless, and inert to virtually all bath instruments and plastics.

The Low Temperature Silicone Bath Fluids encompass a viscosity range from 1.5cSt to 20cSt* (measures @ 25ºC). Due to their low flash points and high rates of volatility, viscosities below 5cSt are not recommended for thermal applications above ambient temperatures in open systems. High rates of evaporation will require frequent replenishment. PSF-1.5cSt is recommended for closed system only. However, in closed system baths**, they have much higher operating temperature ranges.

Low Temperature Silicone Bath Fluids have low viscosity-temperature coefficients (VTC), and will experience little viscosity increase even at extremely low temperatures. The Viscosity-temperature coefficient or VTC is a measure of viscosity @99ºC ÷viscosity @ 38ºC. Thus, the lower the VTC #, the lower the viscosity change. This is critical for baths that have pumping systems that cannot operate with higher viscosity fluids.

Bath Applications include: low temperature open system baths, low temperature closed system baths, constant temperature baths, low temperature circulating baths, low temperature refrigerated baths, low temperature closed loop baths, heat transfer baths, heat transfer fluid in freeze drying equipment, thermostats and cryostat fluids, calibration bath fluids for low temperature.

*cSt (cs) is a centistokes…measure of kinematic viscosity
**Closed system baths are systems from which air has been excluded.
