Use: Clearco PM-50 & PM-500 are Phenylmethylsiloxane-Dimethylsiloxane copolymers CAS [63148-52-7]. They are formulated to have enhanced thermal stability over standard polydimethylsiloxane fluids, which break down at temperatures of 160C open system. PM-50 will remain stable at @250C for 220 to 260 hours (open system). PM-500 will remain stable at @250C for 180 to 200 hours (open system). In closed systems, their stability is significantly higher. Due to its high temperature stability, Clearco PM 125 is recommended for high-temp bath applications and for high temperature heat transfer applications
For baths that require stability at both high and low temperatures, the PM-50 & 500 are excellent fluids. They have pour points of 70C, enabling them to be used as bath fluids for applications ranging from 70șC to 260șC
In addition, Clearco Phenylmethyl Silicones exhibit higher oxidation resistance, greater thermal stability and better shear resistance than standard polydimethylsiloxane silicones. Other applications include: Damping Fluid High Temperature Bath Fluid Hydraulic Fluid Calibrations Fluid, Timing Device Fluid, Heat Transfer Fluid.
