Wide Temperature Silicone Heat Fluids are linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids that are formulated for use as cold and heat transfer mediums in a wide range of applications. Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids are clear, colorless, odorless, and inert to virtually all metals, plastics and rubbers found in heat transfer systems.
The Wide Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids encompass a viscosity range from 20cSt to 100cSt (measures @ 25°C). They are characterized by their low pour points, high flash points, wide service temperature range, high dielectric strength, high resistance to oxidation, low viscosity change at temperature (low V.T.C.), long service life, and hydrophobic nature (insoluble in water).
Wide Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids have Thermal Conductivity values between 0.00034 to 0.00037 g/cal/cm/sec °C or 0.15 to 0.16 W/m °C. The Specific Heat values are 0.36 cal/g °C and 1.6 to 1.5 J/g °C .j
Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids have low Viscosity-Temperature Coefficients (V.T.C.), and will experience little viscosity increase even at extremely low temperatures. The Viscosity-temperature coefficient or V.T.C. is a measure of viscosity @ 99°C ÷viscosity @ 38°C. Thus, the lower the VTC #, the lower the viscosity change. This is critical for systems that cannot pump higher viscosity fluids. At extremely low temps, the fluids will still circulate and provide a consistent temperature.
Applications include: heat transfer systems, calibration bath fluids, silicone fluid for temperature control systems, closed system baths, constant temperature baths, low temperature circulating baths, calibration bath fluid, circulator baths, refrigerated baths, closed loop baths.
