Low Temperature Silicone Heat Fluids are low-viscosity linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids that are formulated for use as cold and heat transfer mediums in a wide range of applications. Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids are clear, colorless, odorless, and inert to virtually all metals, plastics and rubbers.
The Low Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids encompass a viscosity range from 1.5cSt to 20cSt* (measures @ 25°C). They are characterized by their low pour points, low temperature stability, wide service temperature range, low viscosity change at temperature (low V.T.C.), low surface tension, long service life, and hydrophobic nature (insoluble in water).
Low Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids have Thermal Conductivity values between 0.00025 to 0.00034 g/cal/cm/sec °C or 0.10 to 0.15 W/m °C. The Specific Heat values between 0.410 to 0.35 cal/g °C or 2.0 to 1.6 J/g °C Low Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids have low Viscosity-Temperature Coefficients (V.T.C.), and will experience little viscosity increase even at extremely low temperatures. The Viscosity-temperature coefficient or V.T.C. is a measure of viscosity @ 99°C ÷viscosity @ 38°C. Thus, the lower the VTC #, the lower the viscosity change. This is critical for systems that cannot pump higher viscosity fluids. At extremely low temps, the fluids will still circulate and provide a consistent temperature. For the lowest temperature stability and lowest viscosity, we recommend the PSF-2cSt (PDF).
Applications include: heat transfer systems, low temperature heat transfer systems, heat transfer baths, heat transfer fluid in freeze drying equipment, heat transfer medium in lyophilization thermostats and cryostat fluids, calibration bath fluids for low temperature, silicone fluid for temperature control systems, low temperature closed system baths, low temperature constant temperature baths, low temperature circulating baths, low temperature circulator baths, low temperature refrigerated baths, low temperature closed loop baths

High Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids are Phenyl-class Silicone fluids that are formulated for use as high temperature heat transfer mediums. These fluids are clear, colorless, odorless, and inert to virtually all metals, plastics and rubbers present in heat transfer systems.
High Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids have Thermal Conductivity values between 0.00032 to 0.00035 g/cal/cm/sec °C. The Specific Heat values are 0.35 cal/g °C for the DPDM-400 Heat Transfer Fluid. The Specific Heat value for the PM-125 is 1.418 kJ/kg K @ 0°C.
High Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids will remain stable up to 300C in a closed system. These hydrophobic fluids are characterized by their high flash points, high thermal stability, high resistance to oxidation, long service-life, high dielectric strength, and high V.T.C. (Viscosity-to-temperature coefficient).
Unlike conventional silicone fluids, the viscosity of the High Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids will lower very quickly as soon as they are heated. This makes them excellent choices for systems that need to pump the fluid at high temperatures. Under heat, the High Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids will easily circulate and provide a consistent temperature.
Applications include: high temperature heat transfer systems, high temperature heat transfer baths, high temp calibration bath fluids, silicone fluid for temperature control systems, high temp closed system baths, constant temperature baths, high temperature circulating baths, circulator baths, high temperature closed loop baths
