Description: Super Low Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are clear, colorless, and odorless linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids / PDMS Silicone Oils that range in viscosities from 0.65cSt (thinner than water) to 2cSt (centistokes) measured @ 25°C.
They are characterized by their water-like viscosities, hydrophobic nature, low pour points, volatile nature (evaporate in open system), stability at low temperature, low viscosity-to-temperature coefficients (viscosity changes little even at extremely low temperatures), & high dielectric strength.
Super Low Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are used in a wide range of military and industrial applications to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, and dampen torque. The other main application is for use in Flow Control, Temperature Control and Pressure Control Instruments.
Due to their low viscosities and low pour points, Super Low Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are particularly effective for use in instruments and gauges that will operate at extremely low temperatures. They prevent humidity from entering the gauge/instrument housing. This is very important. At low temperatures, water condensation can freeze and cause damage to the sensitive parts within the gauge/instrument housing. As such, Silicone Damping Fluids provide accurate readings even in the harshest/coldest conditions.
