Description: Super High Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are clear, colorless, and odorless linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids / PDMS Silicone Oils (CAS# 63148-62-9) that range in viscosities from 300,000cSt to 1,000,000cSt (centistokes) measured @25°C.
They are characterized by their high viscosity, high damping action, low viscosity‐to‐temperature coefficients (low viscosity changes at temperature), excellent lubricity, high dielectric strength and inertness.
PSF-Silicone Damping Fluids meet the composition requirements (100% PDMS silicone oil/CAS# 63148-62-9) of federal spec VV-D-1078 Silicone as Damping Fluid. *

They are used in a wide range of military and industrial applications to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, and dampen torque in liquid-filled gauges, level controllers, rotary dampers, temperature and process recorders, control valves, calibration equipment, flow meters, thermostats, & monitoring systems.
Due to their high viscosities, Super High Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are particularly effective for use in instruments and
gauges that require high damping action with little change in viscosity.
