Description: Medium Viscosity Pure Silicone Fluids are linear 100% Polydimethylsiloxane (CAS#63148-62-9) / PDMS Silicone fluids with viscosities of 50cst, 100cSt, 200cSt, 350cSt, 500cSt & 1,000cSt (centistokes) measured @ 25°C.
They are characterized by their hydrophobic nature, wide service temperature range, excellent lubricity, high dielectric strength, low V.T.C. (low viscosity change at temperature), high damping action and inertness.
Medium Viscosity Silicone Fluids are widely used in Flow Control, Temperature Control and Motion Control technologies. They are especially advantageous for instruments, gauges and devices that are subject to extreme temperatures and high pressures.
For laboratory bath fluids / heat transfer fluids applications, the PSF‐50cSt and PSF‐100cSt are excellent choices due to their wide service temperature range, low viscosity changes at temperature and high dielectric strength.
See also Low Temperature Silicone Bath Fluids and Low Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids.
The refractive index values of Medium Viscosity Pure Silicone Fluids make them widely used in Optics research, LED technologies & Sensor technologies.
