Products Description: Clearco Pure Silicone Damping Fluids are hydrophobic, clear, colorless and odorless linear 100% polydimethylsiloxane (CAS # 63148-62-9) fluids that range in viscosity from 0.65cSt to 20,000,000 (20 million) cSt.

Pure Silicone Damping Fluids are used in pressure gauges, level controllers, rotary dampers, temperature and process recorders, control valves, calibration equipment, flow meters, thermostats, dashpots, aviation equipment, and aviation gyroscopes, to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, dampen torque.

Pure Silicione Damping Fluids >5cSt are characterized by their their wide service temperature range, high resistance to oxidation, high damping action, excellent lubricity, compatibility with virtually all o-rings, little viscosity change at extreme temperatures, and high dielectric strength.

They can be used in the most extreme environments where high rates of vibration and pulsation are encountered. Due to their wide service temperature range, they can be used at extremely low and high temperatures. A properly selected silicone fluid can signifcantly extend the service life of equipment and provide more accurate reading in doing so.

Phenylmethyl Silicone Damping Fluids provide higher thermal stability and wider service temperature ranges than standard Pure Silicone Damping Fluids (Polydimethylsiloxane).

Low Viscosity Pure Silicone Damping Fluids are used in pressure gauges, level controllers, rotary dampers, temperature and process recorders, control valves, calibration equipment, flow meters, thermostats, dashpots, aviation equipment, and aviation gyroscopes, to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, dampen torque.

Use: Super Low-Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are linear polydimethylsiloxane fluids that range in viscosities from 0.65cSt (thinner than water) to 3cSt (centistokes). Super Low-Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are characterized by their low pour points, low temperature stability, low viscosity-to-temperature coeffcients (viscosity changes little even at extremely low temperatures), newtonian behavior under shear, and low viscosities (all close to water)... see also Low Temperature Bath Fluids.

Low Viscosity Pure Silicone Damping Fluids meet Federal Spec VV-D-1078 "Silicone as Damping Fluid". They are used in a wide range of military and industrial liquid filled gauges, level controllers, rotary dampers, temperature and process recorders, control valves, calibration equipment, flow meters, thermostats, dashpots, monitoring systems, avionic gauges and aviation instruments to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, and dampen torque.

Low Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are particularly effective for use in instruments and gauges that will operate at extremely low temperatures (pour points as low as -100°C). Silicone fluids are hydrophobic and prevent humidity from entering the gauge/instrument housing. This is very important. At low temperatures, water condensation can freeze and cause damage to the sensitive parts within the gauge/instrument housing. Ultimately, Silicone Damping Fluids will extend the service life of the equipment that it fills and provide more accurate readings even in the harshest of conditions.

Product Equivalent: Dow Corning 200®-300,000cs, DC 200®-300,000cs, DC 200®-600,000cs, DC 200®-600,000cs, DC 200®-1,000,000cs, DC 200®-2,500,000cs, GE Viscasil 300M, GE Viscasil 600M, GE Viscasil 1M, GE Viscasil 60M, GE Viscasil 100M, Rhodorsil 47V300000, 47V600000, Wacker AK 300000, Wacker AK 600000, Wacker AK 1000000

Use: Super-High Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are clear, colorless and odorless linear Polydimethylsiloxane oils (Polydimethylsiloxanes) that range in viscosities from 300,000cSt, 600,000cSt, 1 million cSt, 2,500,000cSt (2.5 million cSt) & 20,000,000cSt (20 million cSt). They are characterized by their high damping action, excellent lubricity, inertness to plastics, rubbers and metals, high dielectric strength, high resistance to shear, thermal stability, wide service temperature range and low viscosity change at temperature.

High Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids meet Federal Specification VV-D-1078 "Silicone as Damping Fluid". They are used in a wide range of military and industrial liquid filled gauges, level controllers, rotary dampers, temperature and process recorders, control valves, calibration equipment, flow meters, thermostats, dashpots, monitoring systems, avionic gauges and aviation instruments to dampen vibration, dampen pulsation, dampen amplitude of motion and dampen torque.

High Viscosity Silicone Damping Fluids are particularly effective for use in instruments and gauge that will require the highest damping action against vibration and movement. In addition, the Super High-Vis Silicone fluids are hydrophobic and prevent humidity from entering the gauge/instrument housing. This is very important. At low temperatures, water condensation can freeze and cause damage to the sensitive parts within the gauge/instrument housing. Ultimately, Silicone Damping Fluids will extend the service life of the equipment that it fills and provide more accurate readings even in the harshest of conditions.

Properties:

  • Extremely High Viscosity Fluids
  • Highest Damping Action
  • Dampen vibration in gauges, instruments, meters and avionic instruments
  • Protects internal components against vibration, freezing and corrosion.
  • Extends service life of gauges, instruments, meters and avionic instruments.
  • Wide service temperature range
  • Low viscosity change at temperature (low V.T.C.)
  • Inert to virtually all o-rings, gaskets, seals and valves *
  • High Dielectric Strength

*not recommended for silicone rubber due to possibility of swelling
