Medium Temperature Pure Silicone Bath Fluids are clear, colorless and odorless linear PDMS Silicone oils (CAS # 63148-62-9) with viscosity of 20cSt*, 50cSt and 100cst @ 25C. These fluids are characterized by their high flash points, wide operating temperature ranges, high resistance to oxidation, low viscosity change at temperature, low vapor pressures, high dielectric strength, good heat capacity values, and inertness to virtually all plastics, rubbers and bath fluid instrumentation (not recommended for contact with silicone O-rings). As such, they are widely used as laboratory bath fluids and heat transfer fluids.

Medium Temperature Silicone Fluids encompass a viscosity range from 20cSt to 100cSt* (measures @ 25°C). Clearco Medium Temperature Silicone Bath Fluids are characterized by their high flash points, wide operating temperature ranges, high resistance to oxidation, low viscosity change at temperature, low vapor pressures, and inertness to virtually all plastics, rubbers and bath fluid instrumentation (not recommended for contact with silicone o-rings).

*cSt (cs) is a centistokes...measure of kinematic viscosity

PSF-50cSt and 100cSt Silicone Bath Fluids remain stable @ 150°C (open system [presence of air]) for approximately 1-year without breakdown or gelling. At 200°C (open to air system), PSF-100cSt remains stable for approximately 250 to 300 hours without gelling (see chart below). However, for prolonged periods above 200°C in open to air systems, we recommend the DPDM-400 or PM-125 Fluids.

**Closed system baths are systems from which air has been excluded.Medium temperature silicone bath fluids have a maximum long term operating temperature of 230°C.
